I write features, including a fashion column, a fitness column, pop culture, health, music, religion, food, home and garden, arts and youth.

However, I have covered almost every beat during my 13 years at daily newspapers. That includes beats that never before existed. My editor actually created a general-assignment beat for me, to feed my creativity and curiosity.

I am currently a member of the MediaNews Group's IdeaLab, an elite team of journalists nationwide exploring how to use new media and technology to improve the field. I am the "modern Lois Lane," a mobile journalist.

I also ghostwrite and edit books (and have been published in a few), have been the editor of multiple magazines and I run multiple professional social media campaigns. My experience spans international reporting, building professional websites, teaching college-level workshops about mobile journalism and blogging.
